Gaming Innovation Group (GiG Software Plc) has announced the official launch of Betzone in the UK, powered by GiG’s advanced CoreX iGaming platform and market leading AI solutions, rules engine LogicX and real-time reporting tool DataX,  as its premium technology marks another successful delivery into Europe’s largest and most lucrative online betting market.

This launch is further evidence of GiG’s growing presence in the UK, providing additional proof of its greatly enhanced delivery capacity, with this being the second UK brand successfully migrated onto GiG’s advanced platform during the quarter. GiG’s innovative solutions will bolster Betzone’s commitment to delivering a modern, seamless, and user-friendly experience while continuing to grow and expand its market share in the competitive UK market.

A key pillar of this migration is GiG’s state-of-the-art risk scoring system, which seamlessly combines big data and third-party integrations with its platform and Logic technologies. This system enables Betzone to dynamically tailor player interactions based on risk levels, ensuring personalised marketing, robust financial checks, and enhanced player protection. With these features, Betzone strengthens its ability to deliver best-in-class responsible gaming features, essential for thriving in complex regulatory landscapes.

Central to this transformation is GiG’s powerful iGaming Platform CoreX. Betzone is now poised to capitalise on GiG’s scalable and flexible platform, designed to drive sustainable growth in Europe’s most competitive and highly regulated markets. By integrating GiG’s AI-driven technologies, Betzone can optimise player engagement and personalisation, boosting acquisition and retention metrics to fuel its ambitious growth strategy.

The launch marks a second partner now live in one of Europe’s largest betting markets and with an estimated annual market value of £11 billion (€12.8 billion), the UK represents a strategic growth opportunity, building on GiG’s proven success in driving innovation and compliance across regulated markets.

James Coxon, Chief Operating Officer at GiG, commented: “Betzone’s migration and launch with GiG extends our premium reputation for technological excellence and market-leading capabilities, raising the bar for success in the UK iGaming industry. We are beginning to see the realisation of the ambitious strategic goals we have set out to achieve for the business, with this now the third publicly announced launch since the turn of the year further documenting our growing delivery capacity and strength within our operational teams. With more due in the coming months, and the strong demand for our solutions at ICE in Barcelona recently, we have continued optimism for the year ahead for GiG.”

Adam Joseph, Chief Executive Officer at Betzone, added:“ GiG’s premium solutions, we believe, will be instrumental in realising our ambitious vision for Betzone, leveraging cutting-edge gaming technologies to ensure strong compliance foundations, drive sustainable growth, and position our brand for long-term success in the UK market.”

PlayVS to Launch Hockey Gaming Initiative Pilot with the Support of the NHL/NHLPA Industry Growth Fund

PlayVS, the leading amateur esports platform, announced the launch of a new pilot program Game On: an NHL/NHLPA Scholastic Gaming Initiative, designed to inspire the next generation of hockey fans through competitive esports and skill-building activities in three key NHL Club markets–home to the New Jersey Devils, Los Angeles Kings, and Detroit Red Wings as well as in a national, virtual EA SPORTS NHL 25 tournament.

The initiative, funded by the NHL/NHLPA Industry Growth Fund (IGF), is designed to promote access, inclusion, and connection through gaming, while giving young players the chance to engage with their local NHL teams in exciting, interactive ways.

As part of the pilot, players between 13-21 years old will not only be able to participate in the competition, but will also engage in positive, structured gameplay that promotes leadership, teamwork, and critical thinking skills that are crucial both on and off the virtual rink. The program’s focus on healthy competition, social connection, and digital literacy is aimed at helping players build essential life skills while fostering a sense of community through gaming.

High schools will also take part in club-specific activations throughout the Spring season, including in-person events and student engagement experiences with the NHL franchises. The first activation took place on March 20 with the New Jersey Devils as part of the team’s Devils Gaming Group Theme Night, where 40 students and coaches were hosted at the Devils Gaming Group Lounge at Prudential Center to play EA SPORTS NHL 25 including special guest appearances by New Jersey Devils Executives, Devils Alumni and Mascot NJ Devil.

To cap off the season, PlayVS will host a virtual national EA SPORTS NHL 25 tournament from June 13-15, offering players in the US the chance to compete for top honors and connect with peers across the country. Registration for the tournament will open through PlayVS’ Stadium platform in mid-May.

“Gaming has the power to bring today’s young players together in ways that are both meaningful and lasting. Through this partnership with the NHL/NHLPA’s Industry Growth Fund, we’re not only creating new opportunities for players to engage with their favorite sport, but also helping them develop critical life skills–like leadership, communication, and resilience–through healthy competition. We’re excited to continue expanding access to competitive gaming and making esports and gaming a core part of the school experience,” said Jon Chapman, CEO of PlayVS.
