Aussies and Emus do battle in the latest slot from Blue Guru Games

Blue Guru Games has continued its series of games based on epic battles from history with the launch of Aussies Vs Emus, which follows on from the studio’s blockbuster hit, Napoleon Vs Rabbits.

Aussies Vs Emus is based around the famous Emus War, also known as the Great Emu War. This was a nuisance wildlife management military operation undertaken in Australia over the later part of 1932.

The aim of the mission was clear – placate public concern over the number of Emus that were running amok and destroying crops in the Champion District within the Wheatbelt of Western Australia.

The attempts to curb the population of the Emus saw Royal Australian Artillery soldiers take arms and fire at the pesky Emus with their Lewis guns. But they would turn out to be futile and the mission ultimately unsuccessful.

The media dubbed the operation the Emu War, and while some birds were killed, the Emu population persisted and continued to cause crop chaos and destruction. Shortly after the first attempt, a second cull was commissioned but this proved to be just as successful, or not.

Aussies Vs Emus picks up at the end of this second battle, taking the perspective of the Emus as they look for a third and final victory over the Australian population.

Players join the Emus and are helped in their battle against the Aussies through several bonus features including Free Spins. These are triggered when three or more exploding Mystery Dynamite boxes land on the reels with eight Free Games awarded.

Additional Dynamite Mystery Boxes that explode before Free Games will contribute one extra Free Spin and be added to the Symbol Upgrade meter.

While the Free Spins play out, every three boxes collected removes one low-paying symbol from the Mystery Wheat reveal and increases the global Multiplier by 1x. Every exploded Dynamite Mystery Box during Games adds another Free Spin to the counter.

The global Multiplier is applied to all wins and the instant coin prizes.

There’s also the option to Buy the Bonus with players able to instantly trigger the Free Games feature. All features are played on the selected bet value when the Buy the Bonus is activated with the cost of doing so equivalent to 100x total bet.

Aussies vs Emus is a highly volatile slot set across seven reels and seven rows and uses a cluster pays mechanic with the max win potential of 16,239  x bet.

Kristian Hassall, Marketing and Brand Manager at Blue Guru Games, said: “Aussies Vs Emus is one of the great battles of history and we are allowing players to join the action to see if the birds can claim victory for the third and final time.

“The battle looks set to be ferocious, but we have helped the birds, and players, with some big bonuses including Mystery Dynamite Boxes, Multipliers and Free Spins.

“The theme is where this game truly stands out, and at Blue Guru, we have mastered the art of taking fun stories from the past and combining them with thrilling gameplay to deliver unique slot experiences that players come back to time and time again.”

eCOGRA, a leading international authority in Testing, Inspection and Certification services for the iGaming industry, has secured new regulatory approvals across three key jurisdictions: Arizona, Indiana and Panama. With these developments, eCOGRA strengthens its position in the U.S. and Latin American markets, offering excellence in compliance through their Quality, Speed, and Service promise.

This strategic expansion allows eCOGRA to conduct independent compliance audits and certification services in each region, addressing the growing demand for rigorous regulatory oversight in the fast-evolving global iGaming industry.

Securing approval in Arizona, where eCOGRA has now been licensed as an Event Wagering Ancillary Supplier, enables the International Testing Laboratory (ITL) to audit event wagering licensees in line with Arizona’s expanding regulatory landscape. Indiana, which introduced online sports betting in September 2019, has authorised eCOGRA to perform regulatory compliance audits, providing licensed operators with crucial assurance in meeting the state’s high standards.

In Panama, the Board of Gaming Control officially recognised eCOGRA as an Authorised Entity for Compliance Certification, specifically for slot machines and gaming software. This endorsement reinforces eCOGRA’s role as a trusted partner for operators seeking to meet stringent regulatory requirements in Latin America’s emerging iGaming sector.

In a move towards modernising India’s lottery sector, the state of Goa has introduced an entirely online lottery platform, sanctioned by the Directorate of Small Savings and Lotteries. This initiative, known as Great Goa Games, aims to bring transparency and convenience to an industry that has long grappled with allegations of mismanagement and fraud.

Ticket sales commenced Monday, with the inaugural draw set for Sunday. Rhiti Group, led by founder Arun Pandey, was granted the license to operate and market the platform. “Our mission is to democratize opportunities through technology,” Pandey stated, emphasizing the secure and user-friendly nature of the app-based system.

Goa government official Narayan Gad lauded the move as a step forward for the Indian lottery sector. “With our online lottery streamlining processes through technology, we are setting a new standard in the lottery industry,” Gad remarked. “The technology-based product will enhance transparency and ensure improved monitoring and regulation of operations.”

This development follows new rules governing online lotteries, introduced by the Goa directorate in February 2023. Currently, 13 states in India, including Goa, allow lottery games, though others have banned them due to concerns over gambling addiction and operational irregularities.
