The Nordic gaming company Paf will deliver the gaming entertainment onboard the M/S Birka Gotland. The cruise ship belongs to the newly founded shipping company Gotland Alandia Cruises. The ship will offer its first cruises in the spring of 2024.
The shipping companies Viking Line and Gotlandsbolaget have embarked on a joint investment in cruise traffic between Stockholm, Mariehamn and Visby. Together they have founded a new shipping company Gotland Alandia Cruises AB, which owns the cruise ship M/S Birka Gotland. Paf will deliver the gaming entertainment to the shipping company.
“We are really looking forward to starting our cooperation straight away. We want to contribute with a good concept for the games onboard. It will be an exciting challenge to get all the new gaming machines and table games in place in the coming months,” says Jannik Svahnström, Head of New Sales at Paf.
Gotland, Denmark and central Sweden
The entertainment offer onboard Birka Gotland will include a variety of restaurants, shopping, spa and entertainment. Paf will manage the slot machines and table games onboard which will be part of the overall passenger experience.
“Paf is a well-established company and a natural partner for us. We are convinced that Paf can deliver a good package for the gaming experience onboard,” says Susanne Kaarnimo-Knight, CEO of Gotland Alandia Cruises AB.
The company will start the cruise traffic between Stockholm and Mariehamn at the end of March 2024. Thereafter, the ship will also operate via Visby on Gotland, and include popular destinations such as Härnösand and Ystad in Sweden, Bornholm in Denmark and Riga in Latvia.

21VIRAL Integrates Air Dice Group Games
21VIRAL, the Latin American-focused games aggregator and solution provider, has onboarded Air Dice Group’s games portfolio.
21VIRAL, which is creating a streamlined integration, onboarding and transparent pricing in the iGaming casino and game aggregation supply vertical, announced the onboarding of Air Dice Group today.
The distribution deal allows 21VIRAL access to Air Dice’s complete portfolio of content. Air Dice specialises in strategy-influenced money games, which are in high demand across Latin America.
Christoph Härtel, CEO of 21VIRAL, said: “Our business is customer-first, and building out a great CRX experience is our goal. Having looked at the market incumbents, we decided to specialise in the Latin American market, given its current growth, which is double-digit, and is expected to maintain high levels of growth over the next 5 to 10 years.”
“We have already onboarded several industry-established operators and game providers in record time using AI to facilitate faster and more streamlined workflows. We are, therefore, delighted to work with Air Dice Group to ensure their massively popular games, such as Wild Cash, Coco Craze, and Book of Goddess, are available to our operator’s portfolio of games content.
However, one of the limiting factors, especially if you are an operator or game provider, is the technical integration expertise and market access within the supply chain. If a game provider wishes to have their games deployed on Operator A’s website, but they are yet to be available to that operator, 21VIRAL’s GameConnector will be the provider’s enabler with all the technical integration, heavy lifting, and onboarding. We will also offer reverse integration, which means that we integrate our GameConnector Platform into their systems – therefore, the operators have less effort.
Simply, it’s a win-win, as many game providers in other territories, such as continental Europe, lack the commercial and technical distribution to enter LatAm—we do all that from them—and the operator gets access to the unique game content in the supply chain that can enhance their players’ engagement and revenue opportunities.”
Rocio Moitino, Director for LatAm, Air Dice Group added: “Latin America has proven to be an expanding and high-growth market for our games content over the last few years, and it continues to increase. We are delighted to increase our market accessibility with 21VIRAL’s team, as they provide faster speed to market to enable operators to access and publish our unique games to their casino lobby in quicker timeframes.”

BetBlocker partners with Yellow Scarf to deliver to valuable support to Ukrainian, Polish and Russian communities in the UK
BetBlocker, a charity providing free, anonymous to use, blocking software has partnered with Yellow Scarf, a charity working to deliver support and treatment for Eastern European communities in the Midlands of the UK, to deliver translated versions of the BetBlocker service to support Ukrainian, Polish and Russian communities.
Supported by funding from GambleAware, this project has resulted in the roll out of key native language support for under-supported minority communities. Removing barriers to accessing support services is one of the cornerstones of the minimisation of harm.
Founder and Trustee for BetBlocker, Duncan Garvie, had this to say about the launch of the BetBlocker in these new languages: “A significant priority for BetBlocker is expanding the languages that we can support. As a tech solution to a complex problem, ensuring that users have as smooth and easy a set-up process as possible is paramount to our success in minimising gambling harms. If a user can’t get our app set-up, we’ve failed.
For this reason it’s critical that we facilitate users accessing our app in a language that they’re confident using. Yellow Scarf’s critical work has highlighted the need that exists to provide BetBlocker in languages that the Ukrainian, Polish and Russian communities in the UK can easily access.
The opportunity that GambleAware has provided us to cooperates with an important treatment provider in the UK to expand the service we offer and ensure that our support can be accessed by these under-served communities is one that we were thrilled to take on.”
Tomasz Jarecki, Head of Development at Yellow Scarf, added: “It is a great honour for us to support BetBlocker in making their project more accessible and reaching wider communities – translation into a national language ensures that the more vulnerable people will be able to receive support that would otherwise miss them. More than 25% of Eastern Europeans living in the UK still struggle, despite their best efforts, to fluently speak English in unusual circumstances – and it raises our spirits to find partners such as Betblocker, willing to put in an extra effort to support instead of judge.”
