BETER, the industry’s leading provider of next-gen betting and gaming solutions, has taken its Setka Cup (part of BETER Sports) to the next level, by integrating on-court table tennis players’ heart rate data into its offering.

Having successfully implemented heart rate monitors into their Efootball ESportsBattle tournaments during the summer, BETER’s trialled and tested model is now ready to add the feature to their Setka Cup’s table tennis tournaments.

Designed to increase both incremental revenue and customer engagement for sportsbooks by delivering an entirely new element to the betting experience, BETER’s in-game monitors are able to track and analyse the table tennis players’ heart rate levels to track in-game performance and recovery rate.

The devices, worn on players’ arms, use optical heart rate technology to provide the most accurate heart rate data available, which is then automatically collected and displayed on live streams.

Allowing bettors to make a more informed betting decisions than ever; BETER’s tech analyses a vast range of data relating to their physiological response during matches and their ability to recover – highlighting their potential to achieve the best possible results.

As well as driving engagement, the Setka Cup will also benefit by monitoring and tracking the physical health of the participants throughout the tournament periods, as well as initiating resting periods to prevent over-exertion during the season.

In total, BETER’s heart rate monitors are now available at multiple Setka Cup locations. The functionality is set to be implemented for all Setka Cup table tennis locations across CEE, including Ukraine and the Czech Republic.

Commenting on the launch Alex Lobov, BETER’s Chief Product Officer said:

“Designed to be an excellent add-on to drive both revenue and engagement we predict our partners are like to see an average 2% increase in customer bets on Setka Cup table tennis events, as well as a 5% average increase in views of the Setka Cup live streams.”

BETER’s Setka Cup tournaments across table tennis, tennis and beach volleyball, are a part of its BETER Sports portfolio. The Setka Cup remains one of the largest daily sports tournaments worldwide.

In Q3 2021, the total number of table tennis, tennis, and beach volleyball matches reached 25,454 and increased by 15% compared to Q1 2021. During the same period, the number of betting participants increased by 25%.

This rapid rise through the ranks has seen her pick up several industry awards including Woman Leader of the Year.

As Cherry Play CEO, Bajela has been tasked with overseeing the launch of the studio which plans to disrupt the status quo with an innovative commercial model that does away with the standard revenue share.

Instead, operators pay a licence fee to add Cherry Play’s games to their lobbies and to offer them to players.

Bajela will also be responsible for building out the management team and onboarding the industry’s brightest minds and creative talents with the studio looking to scale at pace.

Cherry Play is incredibly ambitious and will combine its unique commercial model with a portfolio of thrilling slots and casino games to not only meet but exceed operator and player expectations.

Olga Bajela, CEO of Cherry Play, said: “Having helped to build and sell Stakelogic I am now ready to take on a new challenge and couldn’t be happier to have been appointed as CEO of Cherry Play.

“Innovation covers so much more than game mechanics and with our unique commercial model, I am confident we are going to disrupt the slot provision space.

“We are focused on producing two great games per month on the powerful Bragg tech stack and already have an incredible team in place who are just as passionate about entertaining players as I am.

The Cherry Play team’s extensive experience of the Netherlands regulated market will undoubtedly benefit Bragg as we continue to expand our strong position in that market.

“Our new partnership with Cherry Play will also allow us to offer some great new online casino content not only to our Dutch operator partners, but to those operators in the wider European and RoW markets going forward. I’m excited to view the results,” Mazij added.

Current Deputy CEO to step into role from Giovanni Paticchio

iGP, the prominent iGaming platform and aggregator supplier, has announced that Jovana Popovic Canaki will take up the role of CEO.

Jovana joined iGP in June 2024 as Deputy CEO and has quickly established the platform and aggregator business as a rising star in the industry.

This promotion comes after a strategic rethink and realignment for the iconic platform business. Most notably, Canaki dropped iGP’s White Label solution from its portfolio, refocusing the iGP business toward being purely B2B. In a career spanning seventeen years, Canaki has enjoyed successful tenures at the likes of Bragg and Aspire Global, where she maximized partnerships and oversaw a number of high-profile product launches. Her promotion to CEO means that Canaki is one of a handful of female CEOs of a B2B iGaming business.

Jovana Popovic Canaki, CEO at iGP, said: “I am honoured to be named CEO of iGP, and thank Giovanni for this opportunity. I’ve spent my time here getting to know and understand our operators’ needs and really believe that iGP is the business to lead and solve their problems.

“We have an extremely exciting product roadmap for 2025. We’re launching our new retail and omni-channel solution at ICE, enhancing our crypto tools after launching in 2024, and on top of this, growing momentum with new operators joining across our platform and aggregator solutions.”

Giovanni Paticchio, Chairman of iGP, added: “Jovana has spent considerable time at the start of her tenure deeply engaging with our business and used that time to create a vision for iGP that is truly inspiring.

“I can confidently hand over the reins to iGP, knowing it is in great hands with Jovana leading and implementing the strategies that will take our company to the next level and solve the growth-restricting issues so many operators face.”
