Fueling Integrity and Innovation: SBC Summit Rio Conference Agenda
The conference agenda for the second day of SBC Summit Rio is set to provide 3,000 delegates with the latest regulatory strategies and cutting-edge industry innovations through the dedicated ‘Integrity & Compliance’ and ‘Innovation’ conference tracks.
The two tracks will run on 7th March during the inaugural betting and gaming event, designed specifically for senior executives interested in the Brazilian market. Hosted at the Windsor Convention & Expo Center in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazil-focused summit will mark the first industry event to take place following Brazil’s highly anticipated regulatory changes. The summit will serve as the ideal platform to discuss key talking points, reflect on the industry’s journey, and hypothesize on its future.
The ‘Integrity & Compliance’ track will provide delegates the opportunity to garner invaluable insights from key industry leaders on Brazil’s rapidly evolving regulatory and compliance landscape. Delegates can expect robust discussions on a variety of subjects such as the clash between state and federal sports betting licenses and optimal strategies to craft successful sports organization partnerships.
The track will also feature a dedicated ‘Integrity Trilogy’, hosted by Magnho José (Director, BNL Data), which will explore topics encompassing how brands can utilize technology to counter betting-related corruption, advancements in diversity, equity, and inclusivity frameworks, and more.
The ‘Crafting the Perfect Partnership: Success Stories in Sports’, panel will discuss the intricacies of operator-sports organization partnerships. It will feature expert speakers Bruno Guilherme (CEO, Viradabet), Ricardo Padoveze (Head of Sponsorship, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo), Guilherme Guimarães (Founding Partner, Ativa Esporte), Renan Cavalcanti (CMO, Estrelabet), and moderator Fellipe Drommond (CEO, TFW Marketing e Comunicação), as they explore the scope of partnership options available to operators, delve into co-branding and collaborative partnerships, and reflect on the common mistakes and successes witnessed in the industry.
The panel titled ‘The Reality of Municipal Lotteries in Brazi’, will seek to explore the marketing challenges associated with the rise of new state and municipal lotteries across Brazil. It will feature industry experts Ricardo Amado Costa (Vice Presidente, Febralot) and Eduarda Lopes do Espírito Santo (CEO, Intralot do Brasil / SAGA BGI).
The ‘Innovation’ track promises delegates an in-depth analysis of the innovative technologies and strategies pushing the industry forward. Delegates can anticipate discussions surrounding the delicate balance between innovation and regulation in shaping the customer experience, the critical interplay between operators and payment providers when entering new markets, and exploring strategies in selecting the most suitable innovative technology to enhance business operations.
The panel titled ‘Frontliners Do it Better! Discover the Esports Scene in Brazil’, will feature expert speakers Pedro Schmidt (Presidente, Vivo Keyd Stars), Carlos Gama (Vice-Presidente de Games e Esports, ASSESPRO – RJ), Bruno Goes dos Santos (Nobru) (Streamer & Digital Influencer, Co-Founder, Fluxo) and panel moderator Trev Keane (Managing Director/Group Commercial Director, EPIC Global). Together they will explore the esports phenomenon in Brazil, analyze the recent investment from international brands, discuss local franchises, and look at the future of esports in Brazil.
The panel ‘AI Revolutionizing the Future of Betting Products?’, will explore the innovative technology that is set to shape the future of the industry. Expert speakers João Sobreira (Co-Founder, Tipspace), Mateo Lenoble (Regional Sales Director LATAM, Sportradar), and Hugo Llanos (Americas Regional Director, Altenar), will explore technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI), discuss key strategies in selecting the right innovative technology to aid specific business needs, and how to incorporate technology that is true to a brand’s specific image and target audience.

A Decade in iGaming: From Newcomer to a CMO
Wow, time flies! Can’t believe it’s been ten years since stepping into the exhilarating world of online gambling – a field that initially seemed like a short-term stint quickly turned into a new-found passion.
Moving to Malta, and eventually finding a home in Tallinn, I’ve had the privilege to watch the highs and lows as well as the many progressions and transformations. Today, I am proud to form part of the Mr. Gamble team that is ambitiously expanding into new markets, and pushing the boundaries.
From Customer Support to CMO
My journey in iGaming kicked off in Customer Support at Betsson – a leap from my telecom sales management role back in Finland. While this move puzzled my family and friends alike, it was a necessary step. Over the months and years, I worked my way up through various roles including Affiliate Coordinator, Affiliate Manager and Head of Affiliates, learning the various intricate parts of the industry, while at the same time adapting to new technological changes.
One thing is for sure, the iGaming industry is a fast-paced one, and each role has helped me to thrive and adapt to the various changes. Flexibility is key when working in this industry.
Venturing into Entrepreneurship: My Own Affiliate Business
Following many years of corporate experience, I took the leap to start up my own affiliate business with the aim of creating my own business from scratch. Handling everything from SEO and content strategy to fostering brand partnerships and growth strategies gave me an overall view of the affiliate industry’s many complexities. This entrepreneurial journey instilled insight and resilience, especially in terms of the value of the diverse skill sets found within a team.
By 2023, I joined Mr. Gamble as CMO, bringing my own entrepreneurial experience into this company’s growth strategy. Drawing on my background in SEO, content management and brand development and alongside a knowledgeable team, we have successfully strengthened Mr. Gamble’s presence in established markets, while also setting our sites on new markets.
New Markets and New Possibilities
Since the online gambling industry is continually evolving and expanding, it also brings with it a surge in growth when it comes to new and emerging markets. While we have made huge strides in launching Mr. Gambe USA, we are also eyeing promising regions in Asia, Latin America and Africa, where digital adoption and regulations are evolving creating new opportunities.
As we continue to solidify our presence in the US, these emerging markets represent the next frontier.
An Ever-Changing and Evolving Gambling Industry
Over the past decade, the online gambling industry has quickly evolved from a somewhat fragmented field to a high-powered professional space. Conferences and expos, once informal gatherings have become hubs for talent.
Events such as SiGMA, SBC, iGB, NEXT.io and Hiphter Events today celebrate the progression of iGaming, while highlighting the various advances in technology and market inclusivity.
The shift toward hybrid work in recent years has also paved the way for industry shakeups. While digital operations are convenient, the importance of face-to-face meetings and connections remains. In an industry highly reliant and built on personal relationships, meeting in person strengthens partnerships and opens doors to new opportunities.
A Bright Future for Mr. Gamble
As CMO of Mr. Gamble, I along with the team are committed to expanding our brand’s influence, not only in traditional markets, but also in new and emerging ones. iGaming is constantly evolving and our strategies must evolve too, adapting and driving on the windy road to success. This entails adapting to changes in technology, user behaviour and experience, and most importantly navigating regulatory landscapes.
Of course, Google’s frequent algorithm updates keep us our our toes, pushing us to refine our approach to stay competitive and ever more relent.
Reflecting on the last 10 years, I am energised and optimistic for the future. With a talented team and untapped markets in tow, Mr. Gamble is well-prepared for substantial growth and impact. Here is to the journey ahead and to everyone – mentors, peers, and friends who have been part of this rewarding path. The next decade holds great potential, and I look more than forward to what is yet to come.

From Entry-Level Candidates to Team Leads in a Year — How We Trained and Developed Affiliate Managers at Betmen Affiliates
My name is Margarita, and I am the Director of the Betmen Affiliates program. We launched 1.5 years ago with just 10 active partners. Finding the perfect candidate for an affiliate manager role proved challenging—being such a specialised area, I reasoned that it was much better to train on the job. Therefore, after a short while running interviews, we hired two affiliate managers one of whom had no sales experience and the other who had no experience in traffic arbitrage. It was imperative to us that we hire driven, resourceful, hard-workers; it’s people like these who can launch a new brand almost from scratch and who easily understand that hitting targets sometimes means putting in more than the standard nine-to-six effort—sometimes working longer, sometimes harder.
How We Developed Two Entry-Level Affiliate Managers into Team Leads
How to Train Affiliate Managers: My Case Study
At first, both of my employees brought in very few partners, so I had to transfer some of my own over to them. At the same time, I demonstrated all the steps of partner contact. We began attending events together. Both Alex and Michael quickly took on all my recommendations, improved their skills, and eventually closed many successful deals.
An affiliate manager worth his or her salt must be able to sell the product and influence affiliates to promote it at our offered rate, promote our many payment options, and talk about conversions.
From Affiliate Managers to Team Leads
By the time we needed a team lead, we had formed a close-knit team. Even though I interviewed several candidates for the position, hiring externally did not feel right. The ideal person for the role needed to have strong managerial skills as well as be able to connect with myself and my team. Michael and Alex both recommended each other for the role. I took both their recommendations on and promoted them both to the position. Both Alex and Michael had already proven themselves, were loyal, trust-worthy and hard-working, and always driven to meet their goals
Conclusion: Why Should You Take a Chance on Newcomers?
I hired employees with almost no experience and I have no regrets. I now have a unique team that can deliver amazing results: in just a year and a half, we’ve increased the number of FTDs by 70 times and are steadily moving towards 80,000 monthly deposits. → A candidate’s enthusiasm is more important than relevant experience. You can teach anyone anything but you can’t spark passion in them. A future manager must be passionate about the work and strive for growth.
→ An employee who grows within the company is highly loyal to their lead and the project. Having moved from a regular manager to a team lead, they are able to train new hires because they know the role inside out. The team will respect leaders who were once in their position.
→ People who love their work drive the brand forward and achieve the best results. They focus not on working hours or weekdays but on the goals they need to accomplish.
