Pinnacle Ups Its Game For Esports Betting, Revamps Its Portal For Top Games

Pinnacle relaunches feature-packed eSports betting Hub

Pinnacle was the first bookmaker to take esports betting seriously. And its latest move shows it’s still very dedicated to growing that segment of its business.

Pinnacle recommits to esports wagering

Pinnacle announced on Wednesday that it was relaunching its “eSports Hub,” the portal through which bettors access wagering and information on esports.

What’s new? According to Pinnacle, the new hub “allows users to focus on their preferred game”:

Users have the option to drill down to see odds panels, in-depth content and schedules for their preferred game while also offering entry level content for those who are new to betting.

Pinnacle has been at the forefront of esports betting since 2010 and we are totally committed to maintaining our position as the global leader in the future,” Pinnacle Marketing Director Harry LangHarry Lang, Marketing Director. “Our new eSports Hub is designed to support this ambition. We have combined our exceptional odds in a user friendly format and published a huge portal of educational content so new and established esports bettors can develop and improve alongside us.

Often esports fans are not necessarily familiar with betting on sports. And traditional bettors might not be that familiar with esports. Pinnacle tries to bridge that gap both ways.

Pinnacle still eyes more growth from esports betting

While some traditional bookmakers have been slow to embrace esports, Pinnacle has not.  Just last year, Pinnacle said it had seen huge growth from live betting on esports. That’s in addition to the millions of straight bets the bookmaker has taken.

Pinnacle passed the 5 million eSport bet milestone earlier this year, and I was projecting to reach 10 million by January 2018. With the relaunch of our eSports Hub I may have to revise that prediction.” said Pinnacle Trading Director Marco Blume.

Traditional sportsbooks vs. esportsbooks

The bookmakers that do get into the space have had trouble navigating it thus far, and have trouble competing with specialized esportsbooks. Pinnacle is one of the few that appears to have figured out how to actually make some money off of it.

Other books often have limited markets or cover only a few of the major esports. That’s certainly not the case. Here is the full list of titles that Pinnacle covers:

  • Dota 2

  • StarCraft 2
  • Overwatch
  • Heroes of the Storm
  • Hearthstone
  • World of Tanks
  • Warcraft 3
  • Starcraft Broodwar
  • Rocket League
  • King of Glory

That list demonstrates how dedicated Pinnacle is to the growing esports wagering market.
