Team Soul has entered the grand finals of Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMIPS).

Team Soul, champions of PUBG Mobile India Series 2019, qualified for the finals after finishing second in the high-voltage league stage with 519 points (finishes – 274 and position points – 245), including nine chicken dinners.

A prominent team, comprising of country’s popular BGMI athletes—gaming leader Sahil Jhakar (Soul Omega), supporter Sohail Shaikh (Soul Hector), assaulters Akshat Goel (Soul Akshat) and Harsh Paudwal (Soul Goblin) pulled off brilliant gameplay in the league stage and will now aim for the top finish in the finals. The team has been coached by Amit Dubey (Soul Amit) and Aman Jain (Soul Aman).

Team Soul’s assaulter Harsh Paudwal aka Soul Goblin was the most impressive athlete in the league stage as he put up an exceptional performance to claim the highest 120 kills in the tournament. He was also the fastest player to grab 100 kills in the league stage.

The team also has veteran BGMI athletes Naman Mathur aka Mortal and Yash Soni aka Viper as substitute players who featured in the last four games of the league stage. Mortal won a chicken dinner in the first game itself while, on the other hand, Viper also played a crucial role to help the team become one of the hot favourites to win the championship.

“We are really happy that we made it out of a really competitive league stage for the finals of the BMPS series. We didn’t start as the favourites of winning the championship but the sheer dedication and hard work of every team member resulted in getting the spot in the Finals of the tournament. The Finals will be a portentous evaluation of our team’s skill but I have a firm belief in the team’s zeal and hard work. It is a challenge which was awaited by us and we feel more than ready to take it. The right mentality and proper grind towards the game make everything possible and a sure-shot path to get the success,” Naman Mathur aka Mortal said after qualifying for the finals.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series is the country’s biggest BGMI tournament and features a whopping prize pool of Rs 2 crore in the ongoing Season 1 wherein 16 teams will fight for the prestigious crown in the grand finals, scheduled from June 9 to 12. The champion team will take home Rs 75 lakh while the second and third-placed teams will bag Rs 35 lakh and Rs 20 lakh respectively.

Thai Deputy PM Defends Entertainment Complex Bill as Shield Against US Trade Move

Thai Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai has defended the Entertainment Complex Bill, set for parliamentary debate on April 9, as a vital economic measure amid rising US tariffs on Thai goods.

While opposition continues inside and outside parliament, Mr Phumtham insisted the bill’s fate should be decided through democratic processes — not protests.

The bill, which includes casino operations within an integrated entertainment complex, aims to generate significant revenue and counter the 36% US tariff hike on Thai goods — far higher than Singapore’s 10%, he said.

Mr Phumtham argued the measure would boost Thailand’s financial resilience and dismissed concerns that it promotes gambling addiction. He said strict entry rules, including age and income restrictions, would help mitigate risk.

“This isn’t about encouraging gambling — it’s about economic survival,” he said.

He urged critics to join the parliamentary debate and cited results from the government’s online public hearing held between Feb 28 and March 14, in which more than 70,000 people participated, with around 80% supporting the bill.

While acknowledging the right to protest, he warned such demonstrations should not be seen as representing the entire nation.

He said public opinion often differs from that of opposition parties and civil groups, stressing the need to respect the democratic process and let parliament decide.
