Club To Compete with Remote Gameplay For First Six Weeks of NBA 2K League Regular Season

ATLANTA – The NBA 2K League today announced the start to its 2020 regular season. Hawks Talon Gaming Club, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, will tip off the season on Tuesday, May 5 against Mavs Gaming, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. Hawks Talon will play at least six weeks of remote gameplay, and throughout that time, the club will compete in eight different matchups including five home games.

“We are excited for the regular season,” said Hawks Talon GC Head Coach Wesley Acuff. “We are ready to play against the elite competition in this league and provide our city a sports team they can cheer for during this difficult time.”

Games will begin at 7 p.m. ET every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with four distinct matchups each night. Each match will be played in a best-of-three format, which will allow the NBA 2K League broadcast to switch between games in real-time and give fans more opportunities to experience the league’s most exciting moments. Each three-game-series victory will represent one regular-season win, and each three-game-series loss will represent one regular-season loss.

On Saturday, Feb. 22, Hawks Talon Gaming Club drafted Lee (Lee Lamb), Kel (Mykel Wilson), follow THEGOD (Kwan Larry Niblack Jr) and Atlanta native Arkele (Derrion Elmore). The four draft picks join a roster that already includes both the third overall pick (Bp) and the fourth overall pick (MrStylez) from the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft. MrStylez (Andrew Valle) was retained this past offseason by Hawks Talon GC after being acquired in a mid-season trade with Pistons GT. The team is led by Team Manager and Head Coach Wesley Acuff who is primarily responsible for all aspects of team operations, including player personnel management and coaching strategy.
