Meet the Casino Guru judges for the Casino Guru Awards

After revealing the judges for “The Most Impactful Social Responsibility Initiative” and “The Best Implementation of RG Tools,” Casino Guru is thrilled to introduce you to the people who will weigh on behalf of the company to judge across a number of categories for the upcoming Casino Guru Awards. 

Casino Guru Awards will be held online in February 2023 with now less than a month left to submit your nominations. The event will celebrate the greatest and most successful operators and industry professionals who have brought an impactful change to the industry and have worked hard on making gambling a safer, more responsible, and sustainable sector for all participants. Casino Guru’s team of judges includes: 

  • Peter Jesko, Strategy Lead at Casino Guru, who influences the direction of company development and has broad experience and knowledge in the online gambling industry. He offers strategic advice and guidance to the company on all levels. 

  • Maros Gasparik, Head of Content at Casino Guru, who is committed to truthful, accurate, and correct web content and has made it his mission to provide Casino Guru visitors with accurate and factual information about the gambling industry, responsible gambling and gambling addiction. 

  • Šimon Vincze, Sustainable & Safer Gambling Lead at Casino Guru, who is becoming an authority in social responsibility and safer gambling. Vincze has headed Casino Guru’s efforts in helping the industry become safer and more responsible and has expended immeasurable effort to convince stakeholders of the importance of responsible gambling. He has worked on a number of projects within Casino Guru, including the Global Self-Exclusion Initiative and Casino Guru Academy. 

  • Petronela Kontos, Complaints Team Lead at Casino Guru, who is working closely with players and operators and has extensive experience in the gambling industry. Contos is overseeing a team of 13 hardworking individuals who are helping players and brands find a middle ground. 

  • Matej Novota, Head of Data & Complaints at Casino Guru, who is driving the data effort at the company and who knows how important it is to leverage knowledge and information in order to help players and readers discover the most up-to-date information they can discover online about the gambling industry. 

  • Jozef Krucay, Deputy Head of Data & Complaints at Casino Guru, who has been working hard to review casino content and has helped resolve player complaints, analyzed terms and conditions for casinos, and overall held operators to a high standard of player trust and responsibility. 

  • Peter Matúška, Casino Data Team Lead & Complaint Specialist at Casino Guru, who is spearheading Casino Guru’s data team which is dedicated to bringing players honest reviews of the brands they wish to explore. 

Each of these professionals has spent a substantial part of their careers in helping to make the gambling industry a better place for consumers. 

As such, Casino Guru is proud to bring these judges who will be responsible for a number of categories they are well-versed in and competent to asses objectively and fairly. The Casino Guru judge team will weigh in on “The Fairest Bonus Policy,” “The Fairest General T&Cs,” “The Most Transparent Casino,” and “The Most Effective Handling of Complaints” categories. 

Casino Guru Awards is now only four months ahead. Registrations will be closing at the end of November, so make sure to submit your nominations as outlined on the official page.

EGT Digital is pleased to announce that Andres Troelsen has joined the company’s team. Effective from 01 August, he takes on the position of Regional Sales Director iGaming for the LATAM region.

Mr. Troelsen holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from the prestigious Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires. He brings business experience with a strong focus on the gaming sector, most recently serving as Commercial Director LATAM at Belatra. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles across diverse sectors, including winemaking, shipbuilding, legal services, media, and entertainment. Throughout his career, he has consistently delivered strong results, significantly enhancing company performance and helping position those organizations among the leaders in their respective industries.

“I am happy that EGT Digital is giving me this opportunity,” said Mr. Troelsen. “It will be a challenge for me to further increase the brand’s presence in a highly competitive region such as Latin America. During a challenging time for Cyprus, which is currently facing the devastating consequences of recent wildfires, SOFTSWISS, the global tech company providing software for iGaming, stands in solidarity with local communities. The company is actively participating in TechIsland’s fundraising initiative, aimed at providing immediate relief to those affected and supporting recovery efforts.

As a member of the local tech ecosystem, SOFTSWISS is contributing to the broader TechIsland initiative, which brings together Cyprus’s IT and innovation community to provide immediate emergency relief and long-term recovery support.

The company has made a financial donation, which will be directed toward three key areas:

  • Wildfire prevention and fire protection infrastructure;

  • Installation of early warning systems;

  • Urgent assistance for families impacted by the fires.

This initiative reflects a broader pattern of social responsibility. SBC Summit 2025 will sharpen its focus on one of the world’s most tightly regulated and commercially significant regions with the launch of the Global Markets – Western Europe track.

Taking place on Wednesday, 17 September at Lisbon’s Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL), the track will deliver strategic insights into how major operators are navigating escalating compliance demands, shifting player expectations, and intensifying global competition.

As part of the summit’s broader Global Markets programme, the Western Europe track will equip delegates with actionable strategies for thriving in regulation-heavy markets like Italy, the Nordics, the Netherlands, and Portugal. From revised licensing frameworks to new consumer protection mandates, the sessions will unpack the real-world challenges and opportunities facing operators on the ground. Whether expanding regionally or maintaining position in legacy markets, attendees will gain critical tools to drive innovation, compliance, and player retention in a changing European landscape.

Other sessions featured in the track include Over the Finnish Line: Regulation in the Nordics, which will analyse Finland’s upcoming move to open its market to private operators, and Dutch Courage: Collaboration in the Changing Face of Regulations, which will look at Dutch proposals to raise the age threshold for online slots and introduce stricter deposit limits.

The Global Markets – Western Europe track forms part of SBC Summit 2025’s Global Markets series. Other markets explored across 16–18 September include Global Markets – Latin America and Brazil, and Global Markets – North America, each offering delegates region-specific insights to support international growth and strategic market entry.
