Caesars Entertainment Opens Two State-of-the-Art Caesars Sportsbook Locations and a Brand-New World Series of Poker Room in Louisiana
An exciting new era of sports betting and poker play was ushered in this week with the grand openings of spectacular spaces at two Louisiana-based casinos. Part of Caesars Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: CZR) (“Caesars”), Harrah’s New Orleans and Horseshoe Bossier City Hotel & Casino each made history by opening state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook locations at their resorts. In addition, Harrah’s debuted the largest poker room in Louisiana with its grand opening of the new World Series of Poker Room.
“This was a special week for Caesars and our longstanding commitment to Louisiana,” said Dan Real, Regional President, Caesars Entertainment. “The opening of our world-class Caesars Sportsbook locations and the new World Series of Poker® Room add to the legacy that Harrah’s New Orleans and Horseshoe Bossier City have built in the Gulf Coast region. We’re ready to welcome sports fans into our sportsbooks, and we’re proud to open the largest poker room in Louisiana, true to the WSOP brand and what it represents.”
To commemorate these openings, Caesars held two ceremonial events inside Harrah’s and Horseshoe this week, each featuring a ribbon-cutting and ceremonial first bet.
In New Orleans, Archie and Cooper Manning joined Pro Football Hall of Famer and former New Orleans Saint Rickey Jackson, local dignitaries, and Saints Superfan Leroy Mitchell Jr., better known as “Whistle Monsta,” to open the new sportsbook and poker room. Jackson placed the ceremonial first bet with his $1,000 wager on the Saints to win the Super Bowl at 40/1 odds and any possible winnings benefitting the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). In Bossier City, Caesars Sportsbook opened in grand fashion with Mayor Tommy Chandler cutting the ribbon ahead of a massive ceremonial first bet of $200,000, placed by a VIP and well-known guest.
Harrah’s New Orleans now boasts a 5,700-square-foot sportsbook with four betting windows, 12 self-service betting kiosks, a 147-foot video screen, and a state-of-the-art, high-powered audio system adjacent to the 5,000-square-foot World Series of Poker Room featuring 20 poker tables. The openings mark another phase in the ongoing $325 million transformation of Harrah’s New Orleans into Caesars New Orleans, which is expected to be completed by 2024.
Horseshoe Bossier City’s new Caesars Sportsbook further cements its status as the foremost entertainment destination in northwest Louisiana. The more than 6,900-square-foot space features three betting windows, 15 self-service betting kiosks, more than 94 TVs with a state-of-the-art, high-powered audio system, a VIP viewing section, and a massive bar.
“These incredible openings are a testament to Louisiana residents, our Team Members and the guests who visit these historic resorts,” said Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital. “We truly feel like we’re part of the home team in Louisiana, and we take pride in serving the great customers and sports fans in the state. From our Caesars Sportsbook app to our retail sportsbooks and now our elevated World Series of Poker Room, we embrace the opportunity to provide guests with even more unforgettable experiences.”
Caesars remains committed to investing hundreds of millions of dollars to provide unequaled sports and entertainment experiences throughout Louisiana. This commitment will see Isle of Capri Lake Charles transform into Horseshoe Lake Charles, which will reopen with a new Caesars Sportsbook location in the coming months.

OLG Selects Caesars Entertainment as the Service Provider for Windsor Casino

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has selected Caesars Entertainment as the Service Provider in the Windsor Casino procurement process. This is the final procurement process in the OLG’s land-based gaming modernization initiative.
Tom Reeg, CEO of Caesars Entertainment, said: “We are thrilled to be selected as the service provider for the Windsor Casino by the OLG. Caesars has a long history of managing Windsor and looks forward to continuing to deliver exceptional guest service and experiences at the property.”
Caesars and its predecessor companies have partnered with the OLG to operate Caesars Windsor (fka. Casino Windsor) since the opening of the temporary facility in 1994. Caesars will assume responsibility for gaming and non-gaming operations of the Windsor casino on behalf of the OLG under a 20-year operating agreement, which is expected to begin in 2026.
OLG requires an 18-month restriction on any organizational changes consistent with other gaming bundle modernizations in Ontario. Unionized employees will continue to be governed by the terms of their collective agreement.

Caesars Entertainment Expands WSOP Online Poker Platform to Pennsylvania

Caesars Entertainment announced an expansion of the WSOP Online poker platform, now pooling liquidity in Pennsylvania with its three existing jurisdictions: Nevada, New Jersey, and Michigan. The move positions Caesars as the first online poker operator to share liquidity across four U.S. jurisdictions, establishing WSOP Online as the only platform in the US where players from all four states can compete in the same player pool. The inclusion of Pennsylvania follows Michigan’s integration with Nevada and New Jersey on WSOP Online in May 2024, marking another significant milestone in the development of WSOP Online as the premier online poker site.
In addition to the announcement of shared liquidity across another jurisdiction, Caesars unveiled the 2025 WSOP Online Bracelet schedule. The schedule will once again feature 30 bracelet events coinciding with the 56th annual World Series of Poker, which will be held for the fourth consecutive year at Caesars Rewards destinations Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip.
“The addition of the Pennsylvania player pool to WSOP Online comes at the perfect time, and we’re ready to give avid poker players in The Keystone State the opportunity to raise the stakes on their poker play. This expansion enhances the experience for players by building even greater prize pools that are up for grabs all summer long as a part of our jam-packed WSOP Online schedule. We’re ready to see who earns our largest online prize pools ever once the first hands are dealt this summer,” said Danielle Barille, Vice President of Online Poker at Caesars Entertainment.
The first Online Bracelet event kicks off on May 31 with a total of 10 live final tables, and the final event begins on July 15. In 2025, WSOP Online will introduce an Online Bracelet Leaderboard, offering over $30,000 in prizes for the first time. Participants in the Online Gold Bracelet events will accumulate leaderboard points, with the highest scorer being honored as the 2025 WSOP Online Bracelet Player of the Year.
Every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday of the series will feature an official gold bracelet up for grabs, from the $333 Triple Treys No Limit Hold’em event on June 8 to the $5,300 WSOP Online High Roller Championship on July 9. Last year, over $30 Million in prize money was awarded from Online Bracelet events in June and July. This year, the schedule is highlighted by six Mystery Bounty tournaments with $5.5 Million in guarantees.
In addition, exclusive satellites to qualify for land-based tournaments will be offered on WSOP Online, with entry fees as low as $1. These satellites will be daily single-table satellites and massive promotions, such as the guaranteed 25-seat Main Event mega-satellites on June 29 and July 1 where 25 $10,000 Main Event Seats are guaranteed for every event. Ten Online Bracelet events will also begin online, playing under a hybrid format, with their final tables contested live in Las Vegas at the WSOP. WSOP satellites outside the US are currently underway and held exclusively at GGPoker.
Players are permitted to play on WSOP Online while simultaneously participating in live WSOP events at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas which will run from May 27 to July 16, with poker’s undisputed world championship, also known as the “Main Event,” beginning on July 2.
