Greek gaming operator OPAP has entered into a partnership with the Hellenic Basketball Federation (EEC). Under the three-year deal, OPAP will serve as a Gold Sponsor of Greece’s national men’s and women’s basketball teams across all age groups.

The corporate OPAP brand will be displayed on the front of the official appearances of all National Teams. At the same time, OPAP and the EEC will focus on joint actions concerning the development of Greek basketball, the development of women’s basketball, the Greek Cup, 3-on-3 basketball and the direct connection of the sport with society.

“Undoubtedly, OPAP is the biggest supporter of Greek sports. In fact, sports are part of our DNA. Basketball is no exception, as OPAP has given the ‘present’ in many historical moments for the sport in Greece. Today, our connection to basketball is becoming even stronger. As the Gold Sponsor of the Federation, OPAP will proudly stand by the side of the National Teams, at all levels, inside and outside the stands,” Jan Karas, CEO of OPAP, said.

“Our goal is to help Greek basketball to remain in the elite of the sport internationally. At the same time, our ambition is for this collaboration to go beyond the narrow confines of a sponsorship relationship. OPAP is a company with an active presence throughout the country, as well as the ‘champion’ of the social offer. We are therefore very happy that the EEC and the National Teams will embrace our social initiatives – and especially those concerning the younger generation,” Odysseas Christoforou, Deputy CEO of OPAP, said.

“Together with OPAP and the strategic cooperation that we are launching today, the goal is to give impetus to the development of basketball throughout the country, at all ages, to all those currently involved and many more that we will bring close to basketball. Together we want to celebrate the next important successes of our National Teams. In addition, OPAP is a company that places great emphasis on social contribution and there we found another element that we fit,” Vangelis Liolios, President of the Hellenic Basketball Federation, said.

“The Hellenic Basketball Federation and OPAP will go together from now on. OPAP, which has always been the main supporter and blood donor of Greek sports, becomes the new teammate of the National Teams and of Greek basketball as a whole. The common goal of the EEC and OPAP is the combination of sports development with the social contribution,” Annie Konstantinidou, Member of the Board of Hellenic Basketball Federation, said.

In-demand software provider adds a 12th regulated market to its operations as full portfolio of games receives approval to launch from Hellenic Gaming Commission

Having vowed to enter three new markets over the course of 2025, hotshot software provider Swintt has already gone some way to delivering on this promise with the announcement that its games are now certified for release in Greece.

With the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) giving the studio the greenlight to provide Swintt titles to licensed platforms in the country, Greece becomes the 12th regulated market in which Swintt is approved to operate.

Following hot on the heels of similar approvals in the UK and Ontario last year, acquiring game certification for the Greek market will enable the provider to connect with even more players and operators across Europe and is merely the beginning of Swintt’s plans this year.

The team at Swintt also has its eyes on the Italian and Swiss markets, further expanding its outreach and demonstrating the studio’s commitment to ensuring that its content reaches a broad cross-section of customers in numerous global regulated markets.

Now that it has secured certification for Greece, Swintt will prepare its catalogue of games to ensure that they’re primed and ready for release in the country – and the provider is already working hard behind the scenes to identify potential partnership deals that will bring its line-up to market.

Building on this momentum, the Elysium Studios driven by Swintt catalogue of games is expected to be a hit in the Greek market, thanks to its cutting-edge graphics and innovative features with a focus on delivering immersive experiences that cater to their player preferences

David Mann, Chief Executive Officer at Swintt, said: “At Swintt, we’ve always been clear about our ambitions to expand, but it’s important for us to do that in a strategic way and only target regulated markets that make commercial sense to us – and Greece definitely fits this bill.

“As the 12th regulated market where our games are certified for launch, we’re very happy to have been granted approval by the HGC and are already hard at work trying to find suitable partners to host our titles in the country. I’m very excited about the possibilities the Greek market will hold for Swintt and am already looking forward to getting our portfolio out to a wide new audience.”
