Neil McArthur, the at present Gambling Commission general counsel who has been commissioned to adorn the post of Interim Chief Executive officer will officially take over tomorrow.

Mc Arthur gains the upper hand following the departure of Sarah Harrison who succeeded the GC’s first CEO Jenny Williams, on 1 October 2015 and is leaving to assume a senior role with the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy today. It is assumed that the recruitment is underway for a permanent replacement.

McArthur has been with the Gambling Commission, since 2006. He qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and has worked as an in-house lawyer for a number of public bodies, including as the head of the General Teaching Council for England’s legal team.
