GGPoker’s Super MILLION$ To Crown World’s Best High-Roller Poker Player
GGPoker unveils a range of improvements to its ever-popular Super MILLION$ tournaments, weekly $10,300 high-roller events that attract both enthusiastic amateur players and the best poker professionals alike.
The most important introduction is that of a SuperRanking leaderboard, which will rank players purely on their profit-and-loss results in all online and live Super MILLION$ events and display the top twenty players. The player that finishes the year at the summit of the SuperRanking leaderboard will be crowned SuperPro and can legitimately be recognized as poker’s best player.
The SuperPro will receive the following:
- Awarded Super Platinum level in GGPoker’s Fish Buffet loyalty program and receive the equivalent of 100% cashback at GGPoker and in all online and offline Super MILLION$ events
- Receive a custom GGPoker player avatar
- Further benefits which will be revealed over the course of 2023
The players finishing in 2nd and 3rd place on the SuperRanking leaderboard will receive the same benefits, excepting the special SuperPro avatar. Players must take part in at least five Super MILLION$ events per calendar year to be eligible for consideration.
Furthermore, GGPoker is partnering with Triton Poker and other live operators to introduce live Super MILLION$ tournaments to their respective events. The first Super MILLION$ Live tournament is scheduled for March 1 during the upcoming Triton Super High Roller Series stop at the Hoiana Resort & Golf resort in Vietnam.
New ways to qualify for Super MILLION$ online events will be introduced. The satellites will help ensure that almost all players, no matter their bankroll, will have an opportunity to win their way into online poker’s most prestigious tournaments.
First up will be a massive Super MILLION$ 2023 satellite on January 29, with ten $10,300 Super MILLION$ tickets guaranteed and buy-in set at just $10.
“This new edition of Super MILLION$ will really be exceptional, including a new SuperRanking format which will be based on pure win-loss, for the first time in poker history. The winners will be recognized as the best poker players of our era, and crowned GGPoker’s first SuperPros,” said Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, GGPoker Global and Super MILLION$ Ambassador. “We’re also expanding LIVE and bringing the Super MILLION$ experience worldwide to everyone; I can’t wait to see some new faces in the world’s greatest high-roller games!”
Super MILLION$ Week recently concluded at GGPoker, with the series highlight a $10,000,000 guaranteed Main Event, which awarded over $11.5M in prize money, the biggest prize pool seen yet in a $10K online tournament. Since its inception on June 14, 2020, more than $300M has been awarded in Super MILLION$ tournaments, making Super MILLION$ the dominant high-roller series in online poker.
New GGPoker players are eligible to claim the poker room’s Welcome Bonus, earn even more rewards with the Honeymoon for Newcomers promotion and automatically join GGPoker’s Fish Buffet loyalty program, with regular cash prizes on offer.

Should iGaming Be Worried About 2024 Bitcoin Halving?
In its LinkedIn newsletter, ‘The SOFTSWISS Special’, SOFTSWISS, a global tech expert with over 15 years of experience in iGaming, delves into the impact of Bitcoin Halving on the iGaming realm.
The recent historical moment of Bitcoin Halving took place on 19th April 2024. SOFTSWISS, a pioneer in crypto-friendly iGaming software, shares its insights and forecasts for how this event may shape the future of iGaming, shedding light on potential opportunities and challenges for industry stakeholders.
What is Bitcoin Halving?
The Bitcoin halving is a scheduled event that occurs approximately every four years or every 210,000 blocks. During this event, the reward for mining and verifying new blocks is reduced by 50%, resulting in miners earning only half the number of BTC per mined block.
Since its launch in 2009, Bitcoin’s mining reward has halved four times, occurring in 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024. The recent April halving reduced the reward to 3.125 BTC per block. Such events are crucial for Bitcoin’s scarcity and inflation control, ensuring that the total supply never exceeds 21 million coins and aligning with its deflationary principles.
Historically, each halving event has resulted in a rise in Bitcoin’s price. This is attributed to the reduced supply and increased scarcity, although other market factors have also influenced these outcomes.
Exploring the Impact of Bitcoin Halving on the iGaming Industry
To provide an in-depth analysis of the Bitcoin Halving impact on iGaming, SOFTSWISS invited Bradley Peak, blockchain expert and tokenomics adviser, to share its anticipations.
- Bets rise: The halving is expected to lead to an increase in Bitcoin’s value. If the trend of impressive price surges persists, Bitcoin-friendly iGaming brands could see a positive impact.
- Crypto adoption increase: Implementing crypto-friendly models has the potential to boost player trust and transparency in iGaming. Additionally, it could rejuvenate unique gaming experiences like provably fair games and decentralised casinos.
- Regulatory frameworks improvement: The recent Bitcoin halving could prompt regulatory bodies to reassess their stance on cryptocurrency gambling. This could lead to new regulations ensuring fairness, responsible gambling, and anti-money laundering measures in the crypto-driven iGaming sector.
Bradley Peak, blockchain expert, comments on the recent changes: “Any transformation will not be without its challenges. It is important to adapt – invest in employee learning and development, onboard crypto processing, and make sure your platform remains secure in the process.”
